Assistant Vice President for Academic Operations, Division of the Provost POSITION DETAILS Reporting to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Assistant Vice President for Academic Operations will collaborate with the Provost to build an institution-wide culture of best practices in academic operations, and ensure academic resources are carefully deployed to advance the mission of the College. Working with the Provost, the Associate Provosts and other members of leadership, the incumbent will uphold and implement policies and procedures. The Assistant Vice President will: ? Manage all academic personnel transactions, including budget approval, search, hiring, promotion/tenure and reappointment and meet policy guidelines and contractual agreements for academic personnel. ? Serve as a resource to Chairs, Deans and Provost on Hunter and CUNY policies and procedures, facilitate program assessment and review. ? Collaborate with Legal Affairs, Human Resources and Budget on academic issues and priorities. ? Develop academic initiatives to support strategic planning, the mission, and the vision of the College. ? Take a lead role on logistics and communications for the Middle States Commission on Higher Educations (MSCHE) accreditation process, provide support to academic programs and units with annual internal reporting and external review requirements. ? Develop and administer budgets to support individual areas of responsibility which will include, Institutional Research, Assessment, and Education Abroad. ? Oversee budgeting for the Provost?s Office and units reporting to the Provost. ? Collaborate with the Hunter College Foundation on Provost?s Office accounts. ? Liaise with the Communications Office on academic-related communications. As appropriate, the incumbent will represent the Office of the Provost at meetings, presentations and forums across the campus, within the larger CUNY system, and with external stakeholders. Finally, the Assistant Vice President may act on behalf of the Provost when required, performing other management and administrative responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS This position is in CUNY?s Executive Compensation Plan. All executive positions require a minimum of a Bachelor?s degree and eight years? related experience. A doctoral degree is required, as well as a substantial record of incremental academic administrative experience in higher education. Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a complex higher education environment with collective bargaining agreements also desired. CUNY TITLE Assistant Vice President COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Salary commensurate with education and experience, within the approved range:$175,000 - $185,000.
