Senior Systems Administrator

Role and Responsibilities 

Under the supervision of the director of information technology, the senior systems administrator manages the technical configuration of and provides end user support for ATSSA’s Association Management System; supports and leads software implementation projects; integrates software systems; and resolves complex technical challenges. 

The senior systems administrator will initially manage and support ATSSA’s current Association Management System, Altai Systems built on Dynamics 365. In 2025, ATSSA will select and begin implementing a new AMS. This role will have a key role in the implementation and will support the new AMS after the transition. 

AMS Administration (70%) 

• Administers, configures, and maintains ATSSA’s Association Management System and its associated web portal. 

• Serves as primary technical contact during the selection and implementation of a new AMS. 

• Provides support regarding AMS initiatives to ensure the system is working and used optimally; interfaces with departments to understand their data usage and provides IT support on projects as requested. 

• Conducts data imports and performs regular data hygiene activities. 

• Facilitates discussions with business and technical stakeholders to extract critical business requirements and presents technical solutions, customizations, and product integrations to meet those needs. Balances user requests with technical and resource constraints 

• In coordination with the content delivery team, vendors, and other stakeholders, manages the design, development, and deployment of web solutions and forms. 

• Trains new and existing staff on how to use the AMS. 

Technical Operations (20%) 

• Responds to help desk tickets and resolves issues related to the AMS and website. 

• Provides technical support to software implementations and other projects. 

• Executes SharePoint and Microsoft Teams strategy; completes regular site audits; supports end-users in creating, maintaining, and developing modern SharePoint solutions. 

• Provides advanced support for Microsoft 365 cloud applications including OneDrive, Teams, and Office 365. 

Department Activities (10%) 

• Maintains information technology equipment inventory with serial numbers, user information and location of devices; maintains licensing information; ensures inventory is in working condition; assists with the disposal of outdated inventory; and recommends the purchase of new devices as needed. 

• Drafts, updates, and maintains information technology standard operating procedures, training materials, guides, and other documentation. 

• Provides back-up to department director as needed; participates in annual department operations activities such as budget planning; strategic and operations planning, etc. 
• Other duties as assigned that drive the vision, fulfill the mission, and abide by the values of the association.
