Posted Job Title PERC Counseling Psychotherapist (Department of Neuropsychiatry) Job Profile Title Counseling Psychotherapist Job Description Summary As part of the Department of Psychiatry, Neurodevelopment and Psychosis Division, the Penn Psychosis Evaluation and Recovery Center (PERC) offers consultations on diagnosis, treatment, support and skill development for adolescents and young adults (ages 16-35 years) who exhibit warning signs of emerging psychosis or early psychosis, and their families. The PERC Counseling Psychotherapist will provide treatment for participants in an early intervention treatment program and for persons residing in a residential treatment program. Since its founding in 1765 the School has been a strong presence in the community and prides itself on educating the leaders of tomorrow in patient care, biomedical research, and medical education. http://www.med.upenn.edu/ PERC Counseling Psychotherapist The Schizophrenia Research Center at the University of Pennsylvania holds a position for a Master's or Ph.D. Level Clinician with a focus on providing treatment for participants in an early intervention treatment program for young persons between the ages of 15 and 35 who have warning signs of psychosis or early psychosis. As part of a team approach that includes clinical coordinators, psychiatrists and psychologists, the person in this position will provide individual CBT, family psychoeducation, as well as more traditional case management services such as meeting with schools, universities or employers. The person will be identified as the primary clinician to individuals with early episode psychosis. Routine data collection with individual clients and integration of results into care will be required, as will timely charting of all clinical encounters. The person will be expected to participate in ongoing training and education activities. In addition, this position may will have responsibilities which include management of regulatory submissions, documentation, and communication related to federally funded projects, industry sponsored clinical trials, management of research coordinators training and delegation of research tasks to maintain compliance with clinical trial standards and procedures, and aid in recruitment efforts for sponsored research and outreach for clinical treatment programs. Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: We are seeking to maintain an individuals with a Master's Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience in mental health of adolescents and young adults or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Clinical experience working with patients with psychotic disorders and respect for client rights and personal preferences in treatment are essential. Applicants must demonstrate an excellent level of organization and dynamic interpersonal skills, show ability to work both independently and as part of a clinical research group, and computer skills. The applicant also needs demonstrated oral and written presentation skills and any evidence thereof will be welcome as part of the application. Child abuse background checking will be required.
