Job Summary This position will direct the program of Healthcare Leadership and will teach a variety of undergraduate health care leadership courses. The ideal candidate will possess teaching experience, as well as professional experience in a healthcare leadership position with significant systems-based responsibility. Broad-based healthcare experience and perspectives including healthcare system leadership, payer leadership, health policy/advocacy leadership is preferred. Position Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with the Dean of the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions to maintain the quality of the Health Care Leadership Program and contribute to continued growth in this program. 2. Teach a variety of courses within the Health Care Leadership Program and manage and supervise internships. Normal teaching load (teaching and internship supervision) is 12 credits per semester. 3. Cultivate and maintain relationships with program alumni, health care leaders, and practicing professionals in the region. Develop internship sites and supervise student internships. 4. Collaborate with interdisciplinary faculty colleagues in the Center for Population Health and across campus. Engage in service as needed within the program, college, and community. 5. Advise and mentor students within the Health Care Leadership Program 6. Contribute to administrative functions within the program including oversight of operating budgets, course scheduling, assessment efforts, etc. 7. Assist in the recruitment of prospective students to the program and the college. Minimum Qualifications 1. Master’s degree in health care related field. 2. Professional leadership experience in the healthcare industry. 3. Strong networking skills, especially with alumni and practicing health professionals. 4. A philosophy in sympathy with the aims and objectives of a liberal arts college is necessary. Preferred Qualifications 1. Undergraduate teaching experience. 2. Experience with securing, managing, and supervising student internship experiences. 3. At least 5 years of professional health care experience with positions of increasing leadership and responsibility. 4. Experience with the development of new undergraduate or graduate programming. 5. History of active participation in professional associations. 6. Knowledge of state licensure requirements. 7. A commitment to scholarly activity. |
