Lecturer - Media Arts FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT The Media Arts A.S. degree program at Kingsborough Community college (KCC), in the Department of Communications and Performing Arts, invites applications for a full-time Lecturer position beginning in Fall 2025. Our Associate degree in Media Arts prepares students for entry-level opportunities in film, television, radio, and related media fields, as well as seamless transfer to four-year programs. We seek and enthusiastic educator dedicated to excellence in teaching and capable of mentoring a diverse student population. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in television studio production, including multi-camera directing, control room operations, and studio-based workflows. This position also involves teaching foundational and advanced courses in mass communication, single-camera/remote production, and media post-production technologies. Responsibilities include:
Performs teaching and related faculty functions in area(s) of expertise. Lecturer appointments lead to a Certificate of Continuous Employment (CCE) after five years of full-time service, contingent upon successful reappointment and performance reviews. COMPENSATION $69,983 - $79,170. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. CUNY offers faculty a competitive compensation and benefits package covering health insurance, pension and retirement benefits, paid parental leave, and savings programs. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development. CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will increase by approximately 9.54% with an additional increase of 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
