Clinical Services Representative I

Position Summary:

• Documents the patients arriving for treatment at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Inputs all biographical information and verifies patient identification in accordance with RSDM policies. Evaluates patient data to confirm that the information is up to date.
• Obtains copies of patients' Medicaid, Medicaid HMO, or dental insurance card, and verify and update the information as necessary.
• Verifies that the required insurance copayment or deductible is obtained prior to the patient being treated by residents.
• Accountable for the posting of patient payments. Ensures accurate documentation of these payments. Generates computer receipts for patients upon request.
• Provides excellent customer service in response to patient inquiries and directs them to the relevant financial coordinator.

Minimum Education and Experience:

• Three (3) years of progressively responsible clerical experience required of which one (1) year must have been in a business setting involving billing and collection or medical insurance activities.
