Superintendent of Schools - Buffalo City School District

• Valid NYS certification as a School District Leader (SDL) or School District
Administrator (SDA)
• Extensive leadership experience in an educational setting, which must
include district and building-level experience
• Successful administrative experience in an urban setting with a large racially
and economically diverse population preferred
• Extensive knowledge of the Buffalo City School District with a commitment to
engage all stakeholders in its success
• Leadership skills built on integrity, trust, and accountability
• Demonstrated capability to work independently, develop strategies, and build
alliances to reach stated professional goals
• Outstanding communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to
work effectively with all stakeholders
• A track record of distinguished success in educational and organizational
leadership
