The Director of Facilities works with the Chief Administrative Officer to improve all aspects of Cheyney University's operational activities. This individual serves as the facilities steward of campus on behalf of the university and PASSHE, establishes long-term organizational strategic goals, and provides short- and long-term recommendations to senior leadership regarding campus conditions. - Responsible for all campus operations including Planning, Capital Projects, Facilities & Maintenance, Grounds, Janitorial Services, Energy, Sustainable-house Real Estate, and Wastewater Treatment-without regard to whether these functions are performed inhouse or by third party vendors.
- Recommend and implement programs and projects that improve, enhance, and/or streamline operational activities throughout the core campus and University property line.
- Campus planning includes assessments of facilities and creation of long-term capital master plan and landscape master plan. These plans are to be aligned with the University Strategic Plan and goals to restore all facilities to peak market value.
- Capital Projects, including all project design and implementation local to campus, as well as primary liaison to DGS for state capital projects. Assemble and submit annual state capital request plans.
- Create and implement a campus preventative maintenance program and manage it through the CMMS.
- Upgrade the CMMS to accommodate all work orders, PM program and anything else desirable to track through the CMMS.
- Provide sustainability services for campus and launch a recycling program. Also, manage energy on campus and work to reduce consumption for water, electricity, and gas.
- Identify and create a plan to address campus deferred maintenance inclusive of all building and life safety codes.
- Provide leadership related to all initiatives to support the admission process, which is the highest priority, including campus beautification, branding, landscape, etc.
- Create and launch an RFP to outsource all operational services, including maintenance, grounds, custodial, snow removal, HVAC, etc. Manage this potential contract as efficiently and effectively as possible.
- Provide support for Housing and ensure the residence halls are in great shape physically, inclusive of furniture. Create initiatives to enhance services and make sure all beds are available for the admissions process.
- Provide real estate services locally to campus and support lease initiatives from senior leadership.
- Provide contract administrative services for the wastewater treatment plant.
- Complete all necessary reporting for PASSHE.
- Complete other duties and projects as assigned.
