ABOUT NOTRE DAME DE SION HIGH SCHOOL Notre Dame de Sion is an independent Catholic and interfaith high school in Kansas City, serving approximately 320 students. ABOUT THE POSITION The High School Journalism and Publications Teacher oversees four courses, each dedicated to equipping students with the storytelling, design, and leadership skills needed to produce award-winning publications. The course load includes:
This teacher will guide students in journalistic writing, visual communication, ethical reporting, and collaborative production. They serve as the faculty advisor for both Le Journal and Le Flambeau, helping students meet deadlines, refine their creative vision, and uphold high standards for editorial excellence. Both publications have earned national recognition, including Pacemaker nominations and awards from the National Scholastic Press Association. This position offers opportunities to explore new directions for digital media and web-based publication. In addition to the structured school schedule, the teacher supports occasional Saturday work sessions (with schedule flexibility to accommodate these). About Notre Dame de Sion
Notre Dame de Sion in Kansas City is an independent, Catholic school affiliated with the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph as well as the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Sion. The school is owned by a lay corporation and governed by a board of trustees. The campuses include a college preparatory high school for girls and a co-educational elementary and middle school for students pre-kindergarten through grade eight.
