The City of San Leandro, one of the Bay Area’s most diverse communities (pop.~90,000), seeks a forward-thinking Finance Manager to join its collaborative team. Reporting to the Finance Director, this role oversees key functions within the Finance Department, which is comprised of 18 full-time staff and three divisions: Administration, Accounting Operations, and Revenue, Budget & Compliance. The department’s FY 24-25 operating budget is $4.8 million. The ideal candidate is a proactive, solutions-oriented finance professional with a passion for improving processes, identifying efficiencies, and strengthening financial systems. A commitment to cultivating a high-performing, supportive work environment is essential. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are key. The City is currently implementing a new financial system, and the Finance Manager will play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition while optimizing financial processes. Requires four years of progressively responsible experience in professional accounting, budgeting, and fiscal auditing, including two years of supervisory experience, and a Bachelor’s degree. The salary range is $152,160 – $184,956 DOE/DOQ (+3.5% COLA effective 7/1/25), plus attractive benefits.
