POSITION DETAILS

The Academic Resource Center Manager reports to the Director of the Kingsborough Learning Center or Designee.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties include but are not limited to:

• Provides leadership and oversight for all learning support service in Writing and Liberal Arts courses
• Monitors usage and quality of support services in Writing and Liberal Arts. Collects data for, analyzes, and reports on activities and outcomes
• Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and supervision of tutors across areas, with special emphasis on Writing and Liberal Arts courses
• Develop and deliver training and development modules in multiple formats for KLC tutors at the start of each semester and throughout the academic year to maintain high quality tutorial services (Tutor onboarding training and KLC Handbook)
• Ensures access toWriting and Liberal Arts courseslearning support services through coordination across multiple formats and modalities, developing and implementing new models as needed
• Liaise with faculty/academic departments to access academic and student needs, remain updated on curricular and academic policy changes effecting tutoring and student success needs
• Ensure CRLA standards are monitored and met for all staff members
• Create, implement, and update communication and marketing plans to engage students in academic support opportunities focusing on tutoring and academic success workshops
• Maintains membership and participation in appropriate associations, campus committees and advisory group - stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of Writing/LA education and learning resources as well as peer tutoring pedagogy
• Work with the Director to monitor fiscal budget, from various funding sources, and make informed decisions regarding hiring, time allotment, and modifications
• Participate in exploring and submitting grant proposals to facilitate additional tutoring initiatives
• Serves as a member of KLC Leadership team and participates in setting goals for the center

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master?s Degree in a related field (ex. Education, English)

Experience hiring, training and supervising tutors at various levels and abilities

Strong Communication skills, including writing and public speaking/presentations

Ability to multitask and prioritize competing needs

Experience in creating communication/marketing plans

Understanding and experience working with diverse community college students

Teaching or tutoring experience, highly desired

Ability to build strong relationships with staff, faculty, and students

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Manages program development and operations of a learning resource center.

• Implements and monitors a comprehensive student support program based on targeted academic resources such as tutoring, remedial and/or other related support services
• Prepares outcomes assessment to further develop center offerings; sets goals and objectives; and supports strategic plan
• Creates, implements and delivers seminars, workshops and other programs to meet the needs of students and faculty
• Collaborates with academic departments and other units to design, execute and improve center offerings
• Oversees promotional material development and center communications utilizing various media formats
• Prepares analytical and statistical reports for management
• Manages professional, instructional and/or clerical staff; may administer department budget
• May seek additional funding by identifying new revenue sources and grants
• Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

$67,784- $96,602

CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employees will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/26, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
