Posted Job Title Curriculum Coordinator Job Profile Title Training Specialist Senior Job Description Summary This position reports to the Core Curriculum Director and has primary responsibility for organizing the logistics of the Penn Vet preclinical core curriculum (years one and two). This position collaborates with the Associate Dean of Education, Core Curriculum Director, Curriculum Coordinator, and Course Organizers to create and manage teaching schedules, facilitate the creation of varied teaching formats, enhance new/existing teaching materials and online technologies, prepare lecture notes, quizzes, and online examinations, grade entry, proctor exams, assist in lab setups, and manage veterinary medical student evaluations and faculty feedback. Courses supported may span the year 1 and year 2 core courses (Foundational Toolkits I-IV, Capstones I-IV, Hippiatrika I-IV, Clouds & Clocks I-IV), and the systemic blocks (Movement & Support, Circulation & Respiration, Development, Defense & Barriers, Digestion & Metabolism, Elimination & Detoxification, Cognition, Senses & Response). The Curriculum Coordinator works closely with the Core Curriculum Director and Curriculum Coordinator to develop and disseminate information updates, provide training, and facilitate resources needed for the core curriculum. The position collaborates with the Associate Dean of Education to organize committee meetings and events, prepare event materials, and communicate with course organizers and all others involved in meetings and events. This individual will also assist in purchasing orders for educational needs and processing reimbursements using Ben Financial and University Procard. Additionally, the Curriculum Coordinator collaborates with the Associate Dean of Education to provide support for committee meetings and events, including space management, preparation of event materials, and communications with the curriculum team and others involved in meetings and events. This individual will also assist in purchasing orders for educational needs and processing reimbursements using Ben Financial and University Procard. Qualifications The Curriculum Coordinator must be well organized and self-motivated, maintain confidentiality, and exercise judgment, initiative, high standards, and follow through in performing duties. The individual must represent the Associate Dean of Education's office with professionalism when carrying out tasks and interacting with others. Experience with educational technology and administrative support in an academic environment is preferred. The ideal candidate must possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. Candidates must work well in a team environment and have a professional demeanor with the ability to provide excellent client services to a diverse audience in a positive and collaborative manner. Technical skills are required, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Outlook, and Canvas are strongly preferred. Training Specialist Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience, Associate's degree and 4-5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Senior Training Specialist Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience, Associate's degree and 5-7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
