Senior Accountant and Payroll Manager

Manlius Pebble Hill School (MPH) seeks an experienced, collaborative, and dynamic Senior
Accountant and Payroll Manager to join our Business Office team. This role represents an

The incoming Senior Accountant and Payroll Manager will play a pivotal role in this upward trajectory. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant and Payroll Manager is a
twelve-month, full-time, benefits-eligible position. The responsibilities as Senior Accountant include maintaining the school’s accounting principles, practices and procedures in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and preparing financial reports. As Payroll
Manager the responsibilities include coordinating and processing semi-monthly payroll.

The annual salary range is $64,500 - $75,000, with excellent benefits that include medical, dental,

Primary Job Responsibilities
Assist the CFO with budget management and manage financial month and year-end close.

Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual reports of actual revenues, expenses,
and transfers to support internal decision making.

Coordinate year-end audit of financial and retirement plan activities, including preparation
and review of draft financial statements.

Oversee Restricted, Endowment, and Plant Fund accounts. Monitor, maintain records, and
reports on investment for these funds.

Oversee fixed asset management and maintenance of asset acquisition records.

Work closely with the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management on the
disbursement and distribution of endowed financial aid.

Process semi-monthly payroll and coordinate pre-process reports with the Director of
Human Resources.

Prepare journal entries and labor distribution.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (advanced degree or CPA is
preferred).

Five or more years related experience, preferably in a school setting.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and State and Federal laws.

Experience with Blackbaud and payroll platforms preferred.
