Internal Job Number: P05236CT Description: This recruitment will be used to fill 1-2 full-time Grants and Contracts Coordinator positions for the Division of Research and Innovation at Oregon State University (OSU). The Division of Research and Innovation supports OSU's commitment to engaging in exceptional research by collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to facilitate ethical research, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the University's strategic plan: Prosperity Widely Shared. This position will report to a manager within in Research Support Services (RSS) under the Division of Research and Innovation (DRI). This position will collaborate with personnel across all teams in the DRI. Under the supervision of the RSS manager, the Grants/Contracts Coordinator will provide general, highly detail-oriented fiscal support to the Research Support Services (RSS) units under DRI. The position provides focused analytical support to the RSS partners which may include principal investigators, department heads/directors/unit leaders, and other researchers. This position interacts with personnel in Research Support Services, Office for Sponsored Research and Award Administration (OSRAA), other Division of Research and Innovation units, as well as other campus personnel involved in research administration. This position will collaborate with Controller's Unit, College/Center/Department leadership, and principal investigators to ensure timely, compliant, and accurate information specific to sponsored research. The position may provide focused analytical support with RSS by working with large amounts of data and multiple complex system processes. In addition, the incumbent is expected to provide excellent customer service and assistance to OSU's faculty with a positive, partnership focused approach to relationship building both inside and outside of OSU. The Grant/Contract Coordinator will participate in process improvement work groups. This may include providing input and assistance in streamlining policies and processes. Under the supervision of the RSS manager, the Grants/Contracts Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the administration of sponsored awards (post award), and financial reporting and analysis for Research Support Services. These duties will include fiscal management of sponsored projects, reconciling accounts, financial report preparation, working with principal investigators and leaders in reviewing accounts and planning future projections, processing award adjustments, final cost auditing and closing. This position is expected to review award guidelines and specific award terms and provide financial information to the Office of Sponsored Research Award Administration (OSRAA) and occasionally to granting agencies in a variety of formats, as required by sponsors. To be successful in this role the incumbent must:
Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Two years of grant/contract coordination experience with responsibility for obtaining and monitoring the use of grant funds and/or negotiating and administering public or private service contracts; AND A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with major courses in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Three additional years of the above experience may substitute for the degree requirement. Some positions may also require experience locating sources of available grant funds and developing programs that qualify for those funds. Requirements :
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. Type: This position, with supervisor and/or director approval, is open to partial telecommuting and remote work utilizing online team collaboration tools.
