Description: This position serves as the Business Officer for the Center for Regional and Rural Connected Communities (CR2C2). The individual hired for this role will be responsible for business and program management, financial oversight, procurement, and data collection and analysis for CR2C2 and its associated laboratories, projects, and activities. Key responsibilities include preparing and managing financial and human resource transactions, overseeing all department accounts (both University and externally funded), and ensuring compliance with University and grant policies and procedures. This role also involves managing procurement processes to support the Center's operations, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services. This position reports to the Director of CR2C2 and helps ensure the Center's financial stability and compliance with University and grant policies and procedures. Primary Function of Organizational Unit: North Carolina A & T is a public land grant high research activity university that enrolls over 14,000 students. The University is committed to dedicated teaching and learning, scholarly and creative research, and effective engagement and public service. The College of Engineering (COE), with over 2,500 students, has 5 Doctoral programs, 8 Masters of Science Degree programs, and EAC ABET accredited undergraduate programs in Architectural, Bio-, Biological, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as a CAC ABET-accredited program Computer Science. The College's focus is on cultivating leaders who excel in academics, innovation, and research; where the 5 research cluster areas of the COE are Autonomous Systems, Cybersecurity and Resilience, Energy and Sustainability, Healthcare Applications and Complex Systems and Networks. The Center for Regional and Rural Connected Communities (CR2C2) was initially funded by U.S. Department of Transportation in 2023. CR2C2 will serve as the Region 4 University Transportation Center (UTC) charged with addressing transportation challenges within the southeastern region of the United States. Requirements:
