JOB DESCRIPTION The Director of Member Engagement & Corporate Communications is responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all member services, engagement initiatives, community outreach, and internal and external communications. This includes oversight of office managers and their teams, as well as direct supervision or close coordination with the Cooperative’s communications team. The Director fosters a culture of service and connection, ensuring DREMC’s values and vision are communicated effectively to members, employees, and the broader community.
JOB DESCRIPTION Supervisory Responsibility — Collaborates with district office managers, communications staff, and cross-functional teams across the Cooperative. Budget Responsibility — Serves as a public-facing representative of DREMC, building relationships with members, community leaders, and external stakeholders while ensuring consistency in DREMC’s messaging and brand identity.
The Successful Director, Member Engagement & Corporate Communications will:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education — Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field. Experience — Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in communications, member/customer engagement, or public relations, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Experience in a cooperative, rural electric system, or nonprofit utility is highly desirable. Certification/License, etc. - Valid Tennessee Driver’s License or ability to obtain license prior to first day of employment is required. Must be eligible to remain insured as a driver by the Cooperative’s group liability policy for the automotive fleet. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities — Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Proficiency in communication, planning, and brand stewardship. Familiarity with billing and customer information systems. Crisis and reputation management experience. Collaborative, member-focused, and innovative approach. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
