La Lumiere School
Full-Time Position: English Teacher Expected Start Date: August 2025 La Lumiere School seeks applicants to join our faculty as an English Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. Our English teachers train students to read critically, write clearly, and speak effectively. Students encounter powerful texts from both classic and contemporary writers, write often both to discover and to present discoveries, and participate in a literary community committed to asking good questions. We strive to go beyond content mastery in order to help students develop a sense of wonder and an appetite for lifelong learning. The ideal candidate would be comfortable teaching upper level high school literature and writing seminars. Our tentative course offerings for this position include: five sections of English courses including sophomore Literature and Composition and junior/senior writing and literary seminars. Application Details Faculty compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience. If a faculty member resides on campus, the school provides year-round housing and meals when school is in session for the faculty member and his/her family as a part of the benefits package. Other benefits include an optional health plan, a contribution to a TIAA-CREF retirement account, and professional development opportunities. Ten-month appointment (August through May).
