POSITION SUMMARY

Direct the delivery of primary medical services for Hidalgo Medical Services (HMS) a non-profit, state-supported primary care clinic and all of its component health centers consistent with state and federal regulations governing the practice of Federally Qualified Health Centers

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES

Provide Medical Director leadership in clinic operation.

Supervise and teach medical students, other health sciences center students and residents in patient care community health.

Administer clinical aspects of HMS services/work with community agencies and other provider groups in developing integrated service delivery system in Hidalgo County and regionally.

Supervise clinical medical services and work with HMS Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and clinical support staff.

Develop and implement HMS clinical policies and procedures.

Develop Quality Improvement measures and mechanisms with staff teams to ensure the highest quality of clinical services are provided at HMS.

Oversee certain grants and contracts to improve clinical outcomes and services at HMS.
