About Lakeside Animal Hospital

Lakeside Animal Hospital, an AAHA-accredited, full-service veterinary hospital in Hermitage, TN, has been nurturing the human-animal bond since 2015. Locally owned and operated, we provide exceptional care for dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, and birds. Our state-of-the-art facility features digital radiology, digital dental radiology, a full in-house diagnostic lab, ultrasound, laser therapy, and a comprehensive dental suite. Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Associate Veterinarian to join our growing, one-doctor practice as we expand. This role offers an opportunity to provide high-quality medical, surgical, and dental care in a thriving clinic with a 4.6/5-star Google rating. Candidates of all experience levels are welcome, as we value enthusiasm, teamwork, and a commitment to patient and client care.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive medical examinations, diagnostics, and treatments for small and exotic animals, including dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, and birds.
  • Conduct surgical procedures, including soft tissue and dental surgeries, utilizing our advanced surgical and dental suites.
  • Interpret diagnostic results from digital radiology, ultrasound, and in-house lab equipment to develop effective treatment plans.
  • Administer wellness care, vaccinations, and preventive treatments to promote long-term pet health.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to educate them on pet health, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Collaborate with our skilled veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure seamless patient care and clinic operations.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to AAHA standards for veterinary practice.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture by working well under pressure and supporting colleagues.
     
     
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Valid veterinary license in Tennessee (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and dental skills, with a passion for small and exotic animal care.
  • Excellent communication skills to build trust with clients and collaborate with the team.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compassion and attention to detail.
  • Experience with digital radiology, ultrasound, or laser therapy is a plus but not required.
  • Commitment to upholding AAHA standards and providing exceptional patient care.
  • USDA accreditation or willingness to pursue it is preferred.
     
     
Schedule
  • Full-time or part-time positions available.
  • Clinic hours: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:30 AM – 6:00 PM; Wednesday: 7:30 AM – 12:00 PM; closed Saturday and Sunday.
  • We do not take after hour emergency. When you go home, you can go home.

  • Availability: Flexible for full-time or part-time shifts (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri: 7:30 AM–6:00 PM; Wed: 7:30 AM–12:00 PM; closed Sat/Sun).
