Job Description Summary
Provides administrative leadership to support a broad range of initiatives for an interdisciplinary research center, tracking progress to ensure goals are achieved on time. Manage operations of the NewCourtland Center and activities associated with an institutional training grant, including organization of meetings, dissemination activities and proposal development. Monitor compliance across all Center activity, including regulatory approvals and sponsor guidelines.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

1) Provide administrative leadership to support planning, implementation, and evaluation of NCTH's strategic agenda. Manage operations of the NewCourtland Center by:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the Center, including the supervision of undergraduate Center fellows and T32 trainees.
Coordinate and attend Scholars and NCTHH regular meetings, developing agendas and work plans, and conducting follow-up.
Develop and maintain professional contacts with internal and external people and organizations.
Ensure streamlined and standardized processes, eliminate redundancies, and ensure sound financial stewardship of space, equipment, and expenditures.
Develop systems and procedures to collect, analyze, and evaluate information on initiatives.
Promote visibility of research programs with faculty, fellows, and students through a wide range of communication strategies, including maintaining an active Center website and social media presence.

2) Support the Center Director in advancing the NCTH's internal and external partnerships and communication regarding the NCTH's impact on healthcare system redesign and policies:

Promote and coordinate efforts related to the Transitional Care Model and other supporting Dr. Naylor in the implementation and dissemination of the model in the US and abroad.
Develop systems and procedures to collect, analyze, and evaluate information on initiatives.
Direct communication of priorities to ensure execution of goals and milestones through regular meetings, status updates, and other written communications.
Draft interim, annual and final narrative reports for internal/external purposes.
Facilitate communications with internal and external partners.
Coordinate special projects and events.

3) Coordinate the implementation of the NINR-funded NRSA program (T32NR009356):

Support program faculty in recruitment of predoctoral students and postdoctoral fellows; support trainees in completing of applications and prepare summaries for review of eligible applicants by Executive Committee.
Complete appointment, hiring, reappointment and/or termination of trainees in collaboration with respective Penn Nursing offices, Office of Research Services, and within NIH eRA Commons.
Organize, monitor and report program and individual trainee activity, e.g., completion of responsible conduct of research requirements in collaboration with Penn Nursing Offices and Office of Research Services.
Monitor program expenditures.
Draft annual program reports for program directors/executive committee.

4) Assure compliance across NCTH sponsored activity:

Communicate and facilitate updates with the IRB, Office of Nursing Research and Office of Research Services.
Track and monitor compliance with sponsor regulations (external to Penn).
Maintain current knowledge of sponsored programs.

5) Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications

Master of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
