Introduction The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) announces an opening for a Dean of Student Services at LAMC, a two-year community college that serves approximately 10,000 students from diverse racial and socio-economic backgrounds. The College is one of nine in the LACCD. Founded in 1975, LAMC is located in Sylmar and has strong historical ties to the neighboring communities of San Fernando, Pacoima, Mission Hills, North Hills, Panorama City and Granada Hills. In recent years, the institution's enrollment base has expanded to include many of the communities throughout the greater-San Fernando Valley, as well as Canyon Country and Santa Clarita. The College provides excellent transfer, basic skills, transitional, adult basic education and career education programs. Committed to student success, LAMC works closely with local secondary institutions to assist high school students in their transition to higher education and maintains strong ties to the business community by providing highly respected job training programs that directly meet the workforce needs of local and regional employers. Job Description Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Services, the Dean of Student Services: plans, organizes and directs assigned Student Services operations, activities, departments, and programs; coordinates and directs communications, information, resources, and personnel to meet the student services needs of the College and enhance the effectiveness of assigned departments, programs and functions; and supervises and evaluates the performance of assigned faculty and classified personnel. Eligibility Requirement: COVID 19 VACCINATION Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. LACCD employees are required to provide their vaccination status in compliance with the LACCD Board of Trustees' policy. Newly hired employees will be required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or, at the latest, by their position start date. Salary and Benefits The basic salary range is from $170,208 to $199,848 annually. The selected candidate will be placed on the salary schedule for that class based on a number of factors including but not limited to: education, scope and breadth of experience and responsibilities, skills, competencies and accomplishments in accordance with LACCD Board Rule 10509. An additional, doctoral stipend of $6,084 per academic year is available for applicants possessing a doctorate degree from an accredited institution.
