Staff Accountant

To be successful in this role, you must be passionate about AVMA’s mission and highly collaborative. Additional qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting is required, association experience is a plus
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting practices and principles, with thorough understanding of GAAP and applicable regulations
• Strong analytical and accounting skills are required
• Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and can effectively handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
• Strong time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing to all levels of staff, volunteer leaders, allied organizations and AVMA members
• Proficient in Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
• General knowledge and/or experience of accounting software
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours, as required

 A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $50,200 - $75,200. Compensation decisions consider a wide range of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, certifications, geographic location, business needs and organizational policies. Additionally, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer.
