Communications Specialist

The Communications Specialist is responsible for executing the Institute for Democratic Engagement and Accountabilitys (IDEA) communications strategy and providing comprehensive support across multiple teams and initiatives. This position will primarily focus on creating regular communications about IDEAs research and programs, including reports, newsletters, website content, videos and social media. In addition to that , this position will also assist on a limited number of IDEA programs and initiatives by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, gathering, organizing, and analyzing data; helping manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets; maintaining communication with collaborators; assisting in drafting reports, memos, and presentations; assisting in organizing workshops, conferences, and webinars, including managing logistics, invitations, and materials; and maintaining research files, and project documentation. Minimum Education Required Bachelors degree in communications, English, or similar or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Required Qualifications Comfortable multitasking and experienced in creating engaging content for multiple formats (e.g., newsletter, website, social media channels, video, long form reports) with minimal supervision. Desired: A minimum of two (2) years of relevant communications experience with a proven track record of success; excellent organizational and communication skills; high attention to detail; multilingual is a plus as IDEA has several projects that involve working with diverse communities here in the United States as well as international projects. The pay range for this job profile is $21.11 to $27.77. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
