General Accountant
North Alamo Water Supply Corporation
Description of DutiesResponsible for performing monthly reconciliations of numerous general ledger accounts. Maintain comprehensive cost center activity reports for each of the water plants to show water delivery fees, chemical usage information, and repairs and maintenance. Assist in the review of discrepancies between budget and actual, as assigned. Responsible for the maintenance of ongoing financial reports as needed for the annual audit. Assist the Controller in the preparation of the annual budget by preparing detailed projections of assigned revenue and expense accounts. Participate in job specific training, and other various required corporate training programs. Comply with federal and state regulations and all established corporate policies and procedures. Other duties as may be assigned.

Job RequirementsA self-starting individual who possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university. One to three years prior accounting experience is required. Strong experience with general ledger, account analysis, and account reconciliation is required. Must possess good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Problem solving, the ability to prioritize tasks, and close attention to detail are essential. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Visual and mental con-centration are necessary for accurately performing tasks, working at a computer for long periods of time in a fast-paced environment and handling frequent interruptions. Must be able to occasionally lift boxes of 10 – 25 pounds in weight. Position requires extended periods of sitting in front of a computer which may result in visual eye strain. |
