Has practiced as a registered nurse for a minimum of two years. Has experience in working directly with community health workers for a minimum of six months. Demonstrated: In-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught. Proficiency in oral and written communication in the language in which assigned courses will be taught. Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff. Belief in and concern for community service. High ethical and moral character. Proficiency with email. Willingness to teach and communicate using a variety of instructional technologies, email and online learning management systems. Commitment to meeting students' learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors. Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the mission, values, goals, and objectives of Central Ohio Technical College. Requires successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications: Summary of Duties: The part-time faculty member is responsible for providing professional, quality work as a teaching faculty member. Work includes facilitating student learning by conducting and teaching general education courses at the undergraduate level, using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course; assessing student learning, and providing academic assistance to students as needed.
