Assistant Coach Track & Field - Throws Coach

The Assistant Track & Field Coach provides administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services to the Track & Field program under the direction and supervision of the Head Coach of Track & Field at Heidelberg University.
Supervision Exercised: Responsible for Graduate Assistants, and may supervise student employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Recruiting quality student-athletes capable of competing at the NCAA level Recruiting student-athletes capable of achieving academic success at a competitive academic institution Achieving competitive results that demonstrate athletic excellence Providing leadership in the personal development of student-athletes by projecting a positive and professional image Helping to design a competitive schedule for the Sprints / Jumps program that maximizes student-athlete development and performance Developing and sustaining positive relationships with alumni and friends of the Track & Field program Aiding in the planning and implementation of practice and competition schedules Participating and assisting in fund-raising activities Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Ohio Athletics Conference, University, and Athletics Department standards Administration of home track and field/cross country events Aiding and planning of team travel and recruit visits Performs other related duties as assigned by the Head Track and Field Coach

Education and Professional Experience: (A) Bachelor’s Degree required (A) Proven ability to recruit high level student-athletes Must demonstrate analytical and strategic thinking abilities. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use arms, hands and fingers to operate and manipulate equipment generally found in an office setting. The employee may be frequently required to be mobile, communicate, and hear. The employee may occasionally be subject to a variety of outdoor environmental conditions including heat, cold, and precipitation. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Mental demands include varied degrees of occasional stress while performing job duties. Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in an office setting, and educational facilities including sports and entertainment venues, all of which may be indoor or outdoor. The noise level in the work environment will range from moderately quiet to occasionally loud. |
