Job DescriptionNorthland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time unlimited Practical Nursing Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. This position will work on both the Thief River Falls and East Grand Forks Campus locations.The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Faculty members at Northland are professionally active scholars who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission. The college is committed to reflecting a diversity of perspectives and backgrounds amongst its administrators, faculty, and staff.Salary Range:$43,067 - $94,542Full-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted. Full-time faculty work 171 days during a ten-month academic year. **Please note, Initial Step placement is limited per the MSCF contract. This will differ from the maximum salary range in this posting. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.Minimum QualificationsEducation Requirement Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing.A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty.Occupational Experience RequirementTwo full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach.Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Professional RequirementCurrent unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.Other Requirement:Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.Preferred QualificationMasterâ™s degree or higher in Nursing or Nursing EducationHave completed one of the Minnesota approved Nursing Aide training curriculums.Experience with accreditation guidelines and policiesFamiliar with the Minnesota Board of Nursing standardsHave a minimum of two yearsâ™ experience teaching.Coursework in teaching pedagogies and preparation in principled and methods of evaluation.Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.Other RequirementsCover letter of interestResumeCopy of unofficial college transcriptsIn accordance with the Minnesota Stateâ™s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnStateâ™s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.NOTICE: The college regrets that it is unable to offer H-1B sponsorship. With its 31 institutions, including 24 two-year colleges and seven state universities, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The colleges and universities operate 54 campuses in 47 Minnesota communities and serve about 250,000 students in credit-based courses. Overall, the system produces about 33,500 graduates each year. In addition to credit-based courses, the system offers customized training programs that serve about 153,200 employees from 6,000 Minnesota businesses each year. The law creating the system was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1991 and went into effect July 1, 1995. The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
