Job DescriptionHennepin Technical College seeks a Temporary Part Time Biology instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and diversity. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education, workforce development, and lifelong learning.Examples of Duties:Teach lecture and lab courses in BiologyContinuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomesIntegration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learningSupport of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resourcesDevelopment and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid coursesContribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional developmentSupport and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projectsMinimum QualificationsEducation RequirementMaster's degree with a major in biology orMaster's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in biology.Preferred QualificationOther RequirementsPlease complete the online application and upload these documents:Cover LetterVitae/ResumeCollege Transcripts*Within your application material, please address how you meet the qualifications for this position.Please note, paper applications will not be accepted. About Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, System Office
With its 31 institutions, including 24 two-year colleges and seven state universities, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system is the largest single provider of higher education in the state of Minnesota. The colleges and universities operate 54 campuses in 47 Minnesota communities and serve about 250,000 students in credit-based courses. Overall, the system produces about 33,500 graduates each year. In addition to credit-based courses, the system offers customized training programs that serve about 153,200 employees from 6,000 Minnesota businesses each year. The law creating the system was passed by the Minnesota Legislature in 1991 and went into effect July 1, 1995. The law merged the state's community colleges, technical colleges and state universities into one system. The system is separate from the University of Minnesota.
