Posted Job Title Clinical Research Coordinator, School of Nursing Job Profile Title Clinical Research Coordinator A Job Description Summary This position will assist in the management of a clinical trial and responsibilities in specific research area. Coordinate the recruitment, screening, and enrollment of study participants, collection and transport of biological samples and related study documents, and collection and management of research data. Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) filings and inquiries and in the preparation of progress and data safety monitoring reports, manuscripts, and research related presentations. Works closely with the Principal Investigator and study team to identify problems and develop solutions. Implement approved changes to procedures as needed and monitor results. Responsible for study coordination for research with human subjects. Job Description The School of Nursing is seeking a clinical research coordinator to work full time on a nutrition research study in the area of childhood obesity. The aim of this study is to assess if energy balance behaviors (diet, physical activity, sleep) can modify behavioral and genetic predispositions to childhood obesity. The applicant is expected to coordinate all aspects of this research protocol. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing, organizing, and maintaining protocol materials and regulatory (IRB) paperwork, completing progress and data safety monitoring reports, recruiting and screening study participants, conducting taste preference assessments, preparing and administering study meals, administering computerized assessments to children, height and weight measurements, coordinating body composition assessments at CHOP, training and overseeing student workers, overseeing and assisting with data management and data entry, and management and ordering of study supplies. The position is ideal for individuals who are interested in growing and developing a research coordinator career or for a motivated college graduate who is interested in pursuing graduate studies in nutrition, public health, psychology, medical school, or related fields. 6) Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Individuals applying should have the following qualifications: (1) a BA or BS in nutrition, psychology, neuroscience, or a related field with at least 1 year of experience conducting human subjects research, clinical trial/clinical research experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required; (2) experience working with children is required; (3) strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with children and their families; (4) exceptional attention to detail, excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills; (5) effective independent problem-solving skills and task prioritization. Strong computer skills, including experience with statistical packages, and basic food preparation skills are highly desirable. Alternate work schedules (e.g., early evening hours) required. Position is contingent on continued funding. Job Location - City, State Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Department / School School of Nursing Pay Range $46,500.00 - $50,000.00 Annual Rate Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
