Chief Executive Officer People’s Energy Cooperative People’s Energy Cooperative (PEC), with a headquarters office located near Rochester, Minnesota is accepting applications for the position of Chief Executive Officer due to the upcoming retirement of its current Chief Executive Officer. PEC is a non-profit electric cooperative that serves members in parts of 6 Southeastern Minnesota counties. Rochester and the surrounding rural communities are a dynamic and growing region that is experiencing significant expansion and growth opportunities. PEC is governed by a member-elected board of directors and its mission is to bring value to its member-owners and communities by providing reliable electricity, superior customer service, and innovative energy solutions at fair and reasonable prices. Today, the Cooperative employs 66 team members, serves over 20,000 homes and businesses and generates approximately $56,000,000 annual revenue. PEC’s electric power rates are competitive with regional power providers. The Role The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is the leader of the organization and ultimately responsible for delivering operational and financial performance. He or she is responsible for setting the strategy and direction, defining the culture, leading by example, and executing strategy. A key emphasis will be identifying new opportunities for growth and successfully leading strategic initiatives and investments to achieve aggressive organizational goals. A highly functioning and accountable culture is a critical component in building an organization capable of scaling to its full potential. PEC seeks an individual who will quickly establish a thorough understanding of the business, who plays a strategic leadership role and creates a culture of accountability to achieve clearly-defined performance objectives. The successful candidate will oversee the entire staff and lead with a strong commitment to the success of the organization. The CEO will be responsible for the continued performance of the company and perpetuating core safety and operating principles The six members of the Executive Leadership Team report to the CEO who is accountable to a seven member governing body, the Board of Directors.

Knowledgeable in finance/budgeting, power supply, and engineering/operations preferred, experience working with a state legislature a plus. |
