REGISTERED NURSE: University Hospital (Central Staffing Resources, Adult Critical Care Cluster)

This RN would be part of our Central Staffing Resource Department in the Adult Critical Care Cluster. This is a Pavilion posting and will also cover the Critical Care Units that move into the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavillion, target opening for November 2025. Responsibilities of the Adult Critical Care Cluster To provide safe and effective nursing care as assigned to patients in each of the Adult Intensive Care Units. This includes caring for patients in the Trauma Burn, Neuro-Surgical, Cardiovascular Surgery, Surgical, Medical, and Cardiac Intensive care unit, Intermediate care units at the University Hospital and the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion.
Current Michigan Registered Nurse License. Must be able to pass the CSR EKG exam with at least an 80% Candidate should demonstrate expertise in communication and problem solving skills within all levels of the health care team as evidenced by interviews, documentation, writing skills, and references. Salary & Nursing Framework Level: Hours: 36 hrs per week **This is a D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion posting and target hire month is July 2025. The D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavilion is a 12-story hospital that will house 264 private rooms capable of converting to intensive care; a state-of-the-art neurosciences center. High-level, specialty care services for cardiovascular and thoracic patients will also be housed, along with advanced imaging. The 690,000 square foot hospital which also features twenty surgical and three interventional radiology suites is being constructed adjacent to the Frankel Cardiovascular Center, with plans for bridge and tunnel connections to existing inpatient care facilities. The anticipated opening of the new D. Dan and Betty Kahn Health Care Pavillon is Fall 2025. This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Michigan Nurses Association and the U-M Professional Nurse Council union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
