Education & Experience: -
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred -
One years’ administrative experience required -
One years’ experience working with children required -
Meet DCYF licensing requirements for working with preschool students at the assistant teacher or above level (Meridian can assist with this) -
Experience working at an independent school is preferred Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: -
Critical thinking skills and the ability to problem solve -
Excellent written and verbal communication skills -
Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, parents, teachers, administrators, and students -
Ability to use customer service skills for communication with parents -
Ability to work effectively with others and navigate a variety of communication scenarios -
Ability to switch quickly from one task to the next and endure frequent interruptions -
Ability to work intermittently on many different tasks -
Ability to work independently, relying on minimal direction or supervision -
Excellent planning skills -
Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humor -
Ability to keep information in the strictest of confidence -
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity -
Proficient at working in a Microsoft Windows 10 environment, using Office (version 2013 or higher); ability to master common automated systems for record keeping, and confidently learn new technology -
Ability to use technology effectively, including but not limited to: email, Google docs, spreadsheets, CRMs and other databases -
Ability to sit and keyboard up to 8 hours per day -
Ability to stand and sit for extended periods -
Ability to move from one end of the building to the other frequently -
Ability to drive school vehicle to purchase supplies -
Ability to talk on the phone -
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds -
Ability to travel locally -
Ability to work outside in any weather
