Head Spanish Immersion Teacher (grades K- 3)

HudsonWay Immersion School seeks a dedicated Head Spanish Immersion Teacher for grades K–2 who is passionate about bilingual education and committed to student-centered, culturally responsive teaching. The ideal candidate will demonstrate native-level fluency in Spanish, a deep understanding of early childhood and elementary pedagogy, and a strong commitment to the immersion model. This individual will support students’ academic, social-emotional, and linguistic development through engaging, inquiry-based instruction in Spanish.

Primary Responsibilities

• Instructional Planning & Delivery
• Plan and deliver engaging lessons that align with curriculum goals and support language immersion.
• Implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
• Integrate social-emotional learning and developmentally appropriate practices in the classroom.
• Utilize assessments and linguistic benchmarks to inform instruction and track student progress.
• Classroom Environment
• Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom culture that fosters student growth and curiosity.
• Promote positive behavior and maintain a well-managed, respectful learning environment.
• Support students in setting goals and taking ownership of their learning.
• Collaboration & Communication
• Collaborate daily with grade-level and specialist teachers to plan interdisciplinary units and support individual student needs.
• Communicate regularly with families to build strong partnerships and support each child's learning journey.
• Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and school events.

Additional Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate student records in accordance with school policies and legal requirements.
• Support school policies and contribute to a positive school culture.
• Actively engage in professional learning and reflect on teaching practices for continuous growth.
• Serve on school committees and participate in curriculum development as needed.

Schedule:

• Monday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Tuesday to Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:50 PM
