Fiscal Analyst 2, Accounts Receivable

The Fiscal Analyst 2 position is the primary accountant responsible for the Finance Department Accounts Receivable functions.  This position will use independent judgement and problem-solving skills to process fiscal/financial documents, mainly focusing on accounts receivable from vendors/customers and students. This position reports to the Accounting Manager and will work closely with cross departmental staff to ensure accuracy in all job functions.  

• Maintain colleges customer accounts module; record payments and bill past due accounts, submit quarterly customer accounts billings for tuition, fees, and other, process write-off for bankruptcy and other debt cancellations as authorized by supervisor;
• Maintain billing and collection processes and procedures and recommend improvements in collections, billing and accounts receivable processes and procedures;
• Perform collection duties for the college related to customer accounts/student accounts and NSF check.  Serve as primary contact with college's collection agency to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts in accordance with college policy;
• Maintain effective working relationships with other college departments, outside vendors, and funding agencies;
• Post Veteran Affairs tuition payments and monitor the VA student accounts for correct payment verification;
• Post Amazon tuition payments and monitor the Amazon student accounts for correct payment verification;
• Work with VA office to resolve overpayments and other issues;
• Enter the student bookstore account data into ctcLink;
• Receipt and process cash receipts in accordance with state and college policy;
• Maintain files and records for customer accounts in a manner easily accessible to Financial Services Department managers;
• Book receivables for Grants and Contracts invoicing;
• Process Payment vouchers from outside funding entities;
• Print daily checks;
• Setup and monitor payment plans for students with past due accounts;
• Manage NSF check collection process;
• Process Labor and Industry encumbrance paperwork and track student expenses;
• Represent financial services as accounts receivable subject matter expert for ctcLink;
• Assist staff with financial summary information, analysis of financial report sand development of fiscal procedures;
• Assist cashier's office with their duties and a times of need;
• Review analyze, verify reports and correct discrepancies as necessary;
• Accounts receivable reconciliation for year-end close/financial statement preparation;
• Perform related duties as required.
