 Speech Pathologist Job Summary The Speech Pathologist shall function under the Director of Therapy to provide evaluative, diagnostic, and treatment for the Rehabilitation Hospital. This position requires a depth of theoretic and applied knowledge for diagnosing and treating patients with augmentative communication needs, developmental speech, and language disorders, acquired cognitive and language disorders, fluency, voice, dysphagia, aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria. This position functions autonomously, providing teaching and consultation with other departments, physicians, and therapy specialists within UC Davis Health, educational specialists, as well as other community agencies/service providers. Department Overview The primary purpose of the Joint Venture Rehabilitation Hospital is to provide a full range of rehabilitation services designed to restore patients to their optimal functional capacity. The hospital is a 52-bed rehabilitation hospital on the Sacramento medical center campus. It is equipped with leading-edge amenities and adaptive units where patients can practice typical activities of daily living. The rehabilitation hospital also includes a 12-bed brain injury unit and four private rooms for bariatric patients. POSITION INFORMATION
