CNE

The Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) is a dynamic, visionary leader who serves as a key member of the health system's executive team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). This executive-level position is responsible for setting and executing the overall vision and strategy for nursing across the rural health system, with a focus on clinical excellence, patient and family experience, innovation, and employee engagement. 

The CNE leads system-wide nursing practice, clinical education, and informatics. This includes championing evidence-based, experience-driven care models and leveraging informatics to improve workflows and patient outcomes. A central priority of the role is the oversight and advancement of the health system’s Magnet Journey, ensuring a culture of excellence, shared governance, and continuous professional development. 

In collaboration with cross-functional leaders, the CNE ensures nursing aligns with the organization’s mission and strategic goals while addressing the unique needs of rural communities. This includes promoting equitable, compassionate, and high-quality patient-centered care in compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards.
