Job Description SYSTEMS PROGRAMMER II University of Alabama at Birmingham
Key Roles & Responsibilities * Provides technical and programming software support to enable efficient and reliable availability of mainframe computers, mini-computers and microcomputers supported by the department. * Functions as a project leader; responsible for planning, analyzing and designing new computer programs and processes. * This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following IT Security Polices and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis. * Lead the development and design of web-based and mobile-based systems for use in research, community and clinical fields. * Ensures compliance for all software development systems, implementing changes where needed following security standards in response to risk assessments. * Design and execute testing and implementation of designed systems for effective user interface and performance. * Maintenance and support for existing systems; coordinate and assist the staff in maintaining the electronic platforms. * Evaluation and analysis of servers' systems performance; liaison between development analysts, external collaborators and end users. * Training new staff on unit systems and operations management. * Planning and estimating the scope of work and timeline for the development and design of programs. * Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Work Characteristics * Systems Programmer II to function as a project leader, responsible for planning, analyzing, designing and implementing new computer programs and processes. * The individual will oversee data capture integrity for unit databases for which they have oversight. * Candidate collaborates with other analysts and management to ensure timely and accurate development, as well as leading projects of software development on the team. * Experience in systems analysis, design development and implementation. * Degree Statistics, Psychology, Math, or a related field
Salary Range: $60,835 - $98,855 QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE. Job:Information Technology
