SYSTEMS ANALYST-ENT

FOR USE BY IT AND HSIS ONLY: The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is seeking a SYSTEMS ANALYST-ENT to conduct business requirements reviews, technical systems specifications and systems process analysis. To develop detailed selection evaluation criteria. To analyze and re-engineer business processes using industry standard tools and methods with understanding of the technical and business environments. To partner with business process experts to learn and understand problems with software. To develop innovative IT solutions for risky and demanding business situations. This position will commit to fostering an environment of heightened security following Information Technology Security Policies and participating in security training, such as Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), on an annual basis.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage virtual machine compute and storage clusters in support of the research mission of the university.
• Provide operational support for collecting performance, capacity, and availability metrics from the clusters for analysis and acquisition planning.
• Improve operational capacity through automation and participate in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment development with RC developer team.
• Provide support for internal users and help develop documentation and processes for external users.
• Requires problem solving skills for complex system.
• The ability to understand why a system is not operations when interdependencies in software occur.
• The ability to reason about correct solution and describe and document steps to repeat or resolve the problem. This content is then used to develop and improve automation resources.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

(Annual Salary: $63,875 - $103,800)
