Job DescriptionHennepin Technical College seeks a Fixed Term Full Time 100% 1-year Electronics Technology instructor dedicated to excellence in career and technical education who desires to become part of an environment that values trust, integrity, pride, passion, respect, collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and diversity. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to embracing quality and innovation in career and technical education, workforce development, and lifelong learning.Duties:Teach lecture and lab courses in Electronics TechnologyContinuous curriculum development, including the design, revisions, and implementation of instructional materials and assessment of learner outcomesIntegration of assessment activities into teaching practices and participation in department and college-wide assessment of student learningSupport of the success and development of students through the use of a variety of instructional methods, available office hours, and by providing additional resourcesDevelopment and implementation of on-campus, online and hybrid coursesContribution into department decisions on budget, scheduling, textbook selection etc.Participation in discipline, team, campus, and college matters through service on committees; attendance at regular meetings; and continued professional developmentSupport and advance the department and college mission through ideas and projectsSalary Range:$44,144 - $96,906Minimum QualificationsEducation RequirementAssociate degree in electronics technology.Occupational Experience RequirementFour full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in electronics technology.Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Teaching and Learning Competency Requirementcourse construction (credit course)*teaching/instructional methods (credit course)*student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course)*philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course)**Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status.* These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.2)** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. (Procedure 3.32.1 College Faculty Credentialing, Part 5, Subpart B.3)Preferred QualificationOther RequirementsWork Shift (Hours / Days of work)This is a one year-long appointment, beginning September 2025 through May 2026, andfollows the semester academic calendar of Hennepin Technical College (HTC). Courses taught are HTC Electronic courses, and are taught on-location at the HTC Eden Prairie Campus, as well as online. On-campus courses will be taught various days and times, Monday-Friday, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. This appointment is expected to be at a 100% teaching load with a total of 32 credits throughout the academic yearAboutFounded in 1972, Hennepin Technical College is the largest technical college in Minnesota.
