Position Details:

 Schedule / Part-Time

• Medication preparation and dispensing, filling meds, Sterile and non-sterile compounding, Inventory management, Data entry and pharmacy operations
• Grow with us: As you advance in your pharmacy curriculum, you'll take on more advanced duties and assist licensed pharmacists in patient care activities

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Currently pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or pre-pharmacy coursework (prerequisites completed)

• Pharmacist Intern License

• 2 years or more experience

Experience:

• Pharmacy Student, student pharmacist, American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), PharmD Candidate, pharmacy school, Pharm, Doctorate of Pharmacy, currently pursuing a pharmacy degree, Pre-Pharmacy

The Home Infusion Therapy Department of BJC Home Care Services works closely with physicians, patients and caregivers to enable patients to remain or return home while receiving intravenous medications. Our services include 24 hour on-call pharmacy and nursing services, comprehensive patient education materials, patient assessment and drug administration monitoring, and coordination of professional services including home care nursing and laboratory services.

Role Purpose

Under direct supervision of staff pharmacists, the Pharmacy Technician has primary responsibility of preparing drugs in unit-dose for IV/OR, inpatient and ancillary area. According to standard procedures, Pharmacy Students assist the staff pharmacist in physician order processing, dispensing medications, transporting medication supplies and maintaining appropriate records.
