Job Title Data Governance Manager Job Description Summary Job Description and Purpose: The On-Account Data Governance Lead plays a key role in ownership of data quality - leading and delivering the data governance program of one of Cushman and Wakefieldâ™s accounts. They are responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective data governance framework, resolving data issues to ensure data quality, integrity, compliance, and overseeing data stewardship and metadata management activities. With strong leadership and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of data requirements and impacts on a multi-service real estate services account, the On-Account Data Governance Lead collaborates with stakeholders to align data governance practices with business objectives, directly owns data accuracy and issue resolution, and paves the way for a data-driven culture within the wider team. Job Description Responsibilities: - Establish a data governance implementation roadmap for a Cushman and Wakefield client
- Implement, operate and own tools and processes for immediate identification of data discrepancies and their prioritised resolution, personally engaging with internal and external stakeholders to see issues through to resolution in required timescales
- Develop and implement comprehensive Data Governance framework, policies, and procedures based on the clientâ™s business requirements
- Work closely with data domain owners and members of the clientâ™s Data Governance Office/Working Group to support implementation of data governance
- Develop and maintain data governance documentation, including data dictionaries, business glossaries, playbooks, and data catalogs.
- Lead metadata management activities to ensure data dictionaries and glossaries are up-to-date, data assets are fully curated and accessible in a data catalog
- Collaborate with business units to capture and define metadata attributes, such as data lineage, definitions, and business rules.
- Coordinate with business units and technology teams to ensure alignment and adherence to data governance principles.
- Develop and implement data quality strategies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data assets.
- Develop tools or automated solutions where needed to support data cleanse activities.
- Identify and assess data-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Define and monitor data governance metrics and data quality metrics.
- Define and enforce data standards, guidelines, and best practices.
- Oversee data stewardship activities, including data issue resolution, data lineage, and data ownership assignments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive data governance initiatives and ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies related to data governance.
- Drive continuous improvement in data governance processes and practices.
- Collaborate with client leadership to articulate the value and benefits of data governance to stakeholders.
- Provide on-going leadership, coaching, mentoring and other development opportunities for the team members; conduct performance reviews with direct reports
Qualifications and Experience: - Bachelorâ™s degree in Real estate, Business or a degree with relevant disciplines such as information management, mathematics/statistics, business information systems
Minimum 5-8 years of experience in the domain, specifically experience in: - outsourced real estate service delivery
- rapid resolution of data issues in complex stakeholder environments
- leading engagements with senior stakeholder on data governance
- designing and establishing data governance frameworks
- leading the consultative effort with product owners and non-technical business leaders to identify appropriate data models and definitions.
- building and curating data dictionaries and other metadata resources to bridge the gap between the technical analytics and the business source data
- being a change leader and cultivating a data-driven culture
- Expert skills in Agile/Program Management, Metadata Management, Reference Data Management, Data Quality, Stakeholder Management, Communications & Training
- Intermediate skills in Master Data Management, Data Security, Data Sovereignty, Risk Management
- Foundational knowledge in Tableau or PowerBI
