Job Description:The Iowa State University Athletics Department has an opening for a Mental Health Clinical Therapist. The Sport Medicine staff are dedicated to the growth and development of student-athletes through providing holistic mental health care, prevention education, and sport psychology services. As a department, we recognize and value the unique experiences of being a student-athlete and are committed to providing quality mental health care during students time of participation at ISU. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for helping clients with their mental health and wellbeing, who value collaboration, and who enjoy providing in-person, on-sight care and mental health services. This position includes case management duties, crisis support, group and individual counseling, and outreach programming. No two days are the same. What youll do:
The successful candidates will possess strong case management, compassion, counseling, communication, and problem-solving skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. This position requires the ability to meet with students during evenings or weekends, and in crisis situations as needed. Licensure through the Iowa Department of Public Health must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.
