Job DescriptionThe MN Small Grants Programs Coordinator provides timely, accurate, professional, administrative work and program development in the areas of higher education funding for students at Inver Hills Community College (IHCC) and Dakota County Technical College (DCTC), specifically, the Minnesota Office of Higher Education Small Grant Programs. This position is responsible for remaining informed of all financial aid regulations and requirements in order to counsel students and to provide leadership for the functions of the financial aid department at Inver Hills Community College (IHCC) and Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) under limited supervision.Responsibilities include:Manage and administer the Minnesota Office of Higher Education Programs.Administer the student eligibility requirements for Federal and State grant Programs.Serve as a professional and technical resource for students, parents or guardian, State and Federal agencies, college administrators, faculty, staff and other constituents.Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.Salary Range: $23.63 - $34.18/Hour; $49,339 - $71,368/YearMinimum Qualifications (Resume must reflect all minimum qualifications to be considered.)Knowledge of federal and state financial aid rules program including grants, loans, and scholarships.Two full-time years (or equivalent) of professional working experience in higher education (financial aid, advising, enrollment services, admissions, student accounts, or other higher education departments).Customer Service skills sufficient to provide prompt and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through email and other written or electronic correspondenceExcellent oral and written communication skills to communicate complex concepts and guidance to students. Ability to effectively communicate policies, procedures, and information in a positive, professional, and courteous manner.?Personal computing/technology skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; experience with and comfort utilizing multiple types of technology.Organizational skills sufficient to process and maintain data and manage multiple and diverse responsibilities.Creative problem-solving skills in a fast-moving environment.Preferred QualificationBachelor?s degreeAdvanced knowledge of financial aid programs.Prior experience with financial software such as ISRS, COD, NSLDS, FSA Partner ConnectKnowledge of private data practices and FERPA.Physical RequirementsMaintain a stationary position for long periods of timeTravel to various locations for events or meetings.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)Standard hours: Monday?Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PMExtended hours: During the academic school year, this position may require availability to work on Wednesdays until 6:00 PM.TeleworkYes, may be eligible to telework one day per week.Application ProcedurePlease upload the following information with your application:- Cover Letter/Letter of Interest (Optional)- Current Resume Resume must reflect all minimum qualifications to be considered.
