Job DescriptionThis college-wide position exists to assist the Chief Financial Officer in the overall management of the fiscal operations of the college. This position is responsible to perform financial duties that will ensure accurate, timely and appropriate financial data to the college and campus administration. This position is responsible for managing and monitoring designated financial activities and to ensure the college in using generally accepted accounting principles.Supervise the management of the Business Office and NCTC Bookstore.Coordinate financial aid programs to ensure accurate accounting records, reporting and monetary controls comply with state and federal financial regulations.Manage college procurement cards, vehicle credit cards, and other Business Office tasks.Monitor and maintain compliance with all banking regulations and provide cash control oversight.Manage the reconciliation of numerous college accounts.Prepare periodic fiscal reports and summaries of revenues and expenditures as needed to insure efficient fiscal operation of the college or any of its individual departments as needed.Salary Range:$26.84 - $38.96 / hourly; $56,041 - $81,348 / annuallyMinimum QualificationsAssociate Degree in a business-related area, such as accounting or business management with 2 years of equivalent work experience in an accounting-related field OR related college education with 4 years of relevant work experience.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) sufficient to analyze, interpret, and prepare financial information, records and reports, locate errors and implement solutions to procedural or other fiscal problems.2 years of supervisory and/or lead work experience sufficient to supervise staff.Technical and organizational skills sufficient to formulate and initiate plan and procedures and to direct their application (for example, computer systems/programs used in accounting functions).Preferred QualificationBachelor?s Degree in a business-related area, such as accounting or business management AND 2 years of supervisory work experience in an accounting-related field.Higher education in accounting or a related field sufficient to indicate familiarity with standard business practices, federal and state laws, rules and regulations along with the ability to interpret and implement MINNSTATE Board policies and procedures.Working knowledge of auditing principles and procedures sufficient to assist in audits.Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerBI or similar programs sufficient to prepare correspondence and query and compile ad hoc reports and records that meet the needs of the institution and its constituents.Evidence of time management and organizational skills sufficient to meet deadlines and direct the work of others.Critical thinking skills sufficient to analyze various situations, provide input to solutions and implement suggested actions expediently.CPA license or equivalent.Experience in the Minnesota State systems.Experience in Workday.Other RequirementsMust submit: Resume Cover LetterIn accordance with the Minnesota State?s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState?s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.NOTICE: The college regrets that it is unable to offer H-1B sponsorship.
