Requisition: 202500032ES Hiring Salary: Yearly-Administrative Department: Counseling Center General Requirements: Master's degree in counseling, counseling psychology, clinical psychology or social work. Licensed for service delivery in the state of Texas (LPC, LP, LPA, or LCSW) if licensed in a different state upon hire, must be eligible for Texas licensure without delay. Minimum of 5 years post degree experience including administrative or supervisory experience in a clinical setting. Additional education may be considered in lieu of experience. Preferred Doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, or counseling psychology (PhD, PsyD, or related doctoral degree). Experience in higher education counseling setting. Crisis response experience. Evidence of experience in collaborative mental health initiatives and interventions across campus stakeholder groups. Nature & Purpose of Position/Usual Duties: Performs complex and highly advanced managerial work providing direction and guidance in strategic operations and planning for the counseling center. Serves as an expert resource in mental health for other campus departments and divisions as needed. Primary Responsibilities (Staff Positions Only): Provides leadership, vision, and management to counseling center. Develops activities, policies, procedures, and departmental culture that facilities, promotes, and sustains collaboration with the campus community. Develops, documents, and implements internal control procedures to ensure fiscal, regulatory, confidentiality, and security accountability. Responsible for organizing, planning, and evaluating personnel, work assignments, supervision, training, and technical direction of staff. Evaluates programs and services to identify areas of strengths and necessary improvements. Develops strategies and processes to optimize operations for the department. Ensures compliance with applicable state and federal laws, university policy and divisional directives. Directs day-to-day operations of counseling center. Provides accurate and timely reports upon assignment or request. Makes decisions about objectives, operating procedures, and policies. Responsible for the center administration, including budget preparation and control. Serves on committees as requested. Oversees the Counseling Center's daily operations. Supervises and provides oversight for the Associate Director who coordinates clinical coverage and provides clinical supervision/consultation for staff and the campus community. Administrative oversight for the clinic electronic health record (EHR) system. Develops clinical policy and standards according to best practices. Provides executive decision making as a member of the Health and Wellbeing leadership team. Provides consultations for the campus community. Leads and engages the Counseling Center team in internal and external benchmarking, designing, and conducting outcome studies and evaluating the effectiveness of Counseling Center services. Actively engages with professional organizations to stay abreast of best practices and operational procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
