Requisition Number: S_250457 Department: Athletics-0850 Description of Work: Serve as a member of Athletic Communications team with the responsibility of promotion, publicity and record keeping of assigned sports. Provide proactive and strategic communications advice and counsel to coaches and student-athletes of assigned sports. Keep athletic administration and executive staff informed of key communications opportunities and strategies within assigned sport(s). Work collaboratively with Digital Media, HuskerVision and Huskers Radio Network to maximize publicity of assigned sport(s) and Husker Athletics. Write, edit, design in-house assigned sports brochures, digital publications, game programs, new releases, and game notes. Serve as key contributor and content editor for Huskers.com, the official website of the Athletics Department as well as sport-specific social media accounts. Serve as event manager for assigned sports. Oversee students/graduate assistants while assisting with all Communications office duties. Serve as liaison between assigned sports and media/conference office/NCAA/ and public. Position requires travel with teams and working evening and weekends. Student work experience will be considered. Writing, editing, layout and design experience on desktop publishing required. Internet and social media experience. Computer skills and outstanding interpersonal communication skills necessary. Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate may have graphic design experience and knowledge of statistical programs preferred. Posted Salary: $45,000/yr. minimum Job Type: Full-Time
