Position Summary Fordham University seeks a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as its inaugural Associate Vice President (AVP) for Enrollment Marketing—who will shape and elevate the University’s efforts to attract, engage, and enroll the next generation of Fordham students. Reporting directly to the Vice President for Marketing and Communications, the AVP will serve as the strategic architect of a comprehensive, data-informed marketing and communications strategy focused on driving undergraduate enrollment growth, while also supporting select graduate and professional programs.
As a senior leader within the Office of Marketing and Communications, and working in close collaboration with Undergraduate Admission and other divisions across the institution, the AVP will lead the development and implementation of compelling enrollment funnel campaigns that build awareness, inspire engagement, and influence prospective students’ decision-making. The AVP will ensure Fordham’s brand is expressed with clarity, creativity, and authenticity—resonating deeply with diverse audiences and aligning with the University’s mission and values. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and builder, fluent in modern enrollment marketing practices, with a nuanced understanding of the higher education landscape and prospective student journey.
Expertise in digital marketing across the higher ed landscape is essential, including CRM and marketing automation platforms (experience with Slate and Salesforce preferred), SEO/SEM, social media, email marketing, paid media, and content marketing. The AVP will be adept at orchestrating these channels into cohesive campaigns that deliver targeted, high-impact experiences. This leader must also bring operational rigor and agility, with demonstrated success managing complex initiatives using iterative, agile project management frameworks. An ability to adapt quickly, communicate effectively across stakeholders, and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic environment is essential.
This leader will oversee an integrated, cross-functional team responsible for digital and traditional marketing, content strategy, creative development, and brand stewardship. The AVP will champion a culture of innovation, performance, and accountability—driving measurable results across key enrollment indicators, including admit rate, yield, and melt. This is a player-coach role, as the AVP will be hands-on in daily operational execution, while serving as a trusted leader to their respective team and colleagues across the University.
The AVP for Enrollment Marketing will play a critical role in shaping Fordham University’s future—advancing its strategic priorities and amplifying its reach, reputation, and enrollment outcomes. This is a rare opportunity to join a modern, mission-driven marketing and communications team at a transformational moment for Fordham and higher education.
