Walnut Hill School for the Arts seeks a Technology Manager to manage and support all aspects of the School’s technology infrastructure, program and services. The Technology Manager leads technology strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology systems and initiatives. This role ensures that technology supports the School's mission, enhances educational delivery, and improves operational efficiency. The Technology Manager works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and administration to integrate technology into the curriculum and daily operations. This is a 12-month, exempt position reporting to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer. Responsibilities: Database & Software Management:
Strategic Planning: Under the direction of the CFOO and in partnership with other community members, develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan that aligns with the School's mission and goals. Leadership: Provide visionary leadership and direction for the School's technology initiatives, including project management for all projects associated with technology, including upgrades and transitional initiatives entity wide. Supervise in-house or outsourced Helpdesk technicians and provide mentoring, direction, and feedback to direct reports. Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in education technology and recommend innovative solutions to enhance teaching and learning. Infrastructure and Systems Management: Ensure the coordination, security, and efficacy of the network infrastructure. Identify, suggest, and implement improvements to the entire systems environment. Ensure the timely maintenance and upgrading of the School's technology infrastructure, including networks, hardware, and software. Administer the School’s network, servers, databases, data storage, phone system, A/V installations, printers, copiers, and any other IT infrastructure needs to deliver reliable service to all members of the community. Ensure that proper systems, policies, and procedures are in place and up-to-date for data backup, incident response, and disaster recovery. Support and Training: Design and provide training for faculty, staff, students, and parents on the effective use of the School’s technology and cyber security. Be a visible presence and partner to the community in addressing technology concerns and potential needs both now and in the future. Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology budget, ensuring cost-effective use of resources while staying within the School’s stated annual and capital budgets. Policy Development: Establish and enforce technology policies and procedures to ensure data security and compliance with relevant regulations. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors, including outsourced services, and service providers. Other: Perform other duties as needed and assigned. Physical Demands: Physical demands include dexterity for electrical, mechanical, and supply operation including but not limited to using electrical equipment, electronic devices, computers, televisions, projectors, phones, power and hand tools, writing, typing, and using office machinery such as copy machines, fax machines, and printers. Walking, ascending/descending stairs, stooping, bending, reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, and sitting or standing for extended periods of time are common. Ability to lift, push/pull and/or carry up to 30 pounds with or without using appropriate tools or equipment as needed.
