POSITION SPECIFICS?
The Pennsylvania State University seeks a Senior Claims Specialist (Risk Management Specialist) to manage and administer insurance claims and incidents for the University and the University's health system. This position will be responsible for moderately complex multi-line commercial casualty and property related claims, including insurance litigation management. The Senior Claims Specialist also assists University Risk Managers in risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation activities; and assists in the implementation of system-wide incident and claim workflows, policies/procedures, and best practices.
Primary position duties include litigation management by working with outside counsel, Penn State's Office of General Counsel, and University leadership to coordinate the full litigation life-cycle; risk management identification, education, and mitigation; and coordination of claims investigation, reporting, and administration.
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
The successful candidate for this position will serve as a risk management and claims expert and must demonstrate knowledge of broad concepts, policies and procedures related to risk management, claims coordination, and litigation. MINIMUM EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree 6+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted Required Certifications: None
Prior commercial insurance and/or commercial claims related experience is required. Insurance designation(s) such as CPCU, ARM, AIC, etc. are preferred.

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.

SALARY & BENEFITS
The salary range for this position, including all possible grades, is $97,100.00 - $145,700.00.
