Salary: $64,000-$69,000

Jasper Central is the department at Manhattan University that brings together the essential services of Financial Aid, Registrar, and Student Accounts / Bursar in one convenient location on campus to provide students with a seamless and efficient experience.

Position Summary:

The Transfer Credit and Certification Specialists will be responsible for timely processing of transfer credit evaluations for admitted students and Certifications of Veterans and Athletes at Manhattan University.

The Transfer Credit and Certification Specialist is expected to develop a thorough understanding of the student life cycle and specialized understanding of transfer credit evaluation, admissions credentials, academic credentials, test credits, progress to degree, articulations and equivalencies (program and course), degree requirements, curriculum governance, and the system maintenance associated with these academic functions. This individual will also be responsible to work collaboratively in managing campus work study.

Duties:

• Evaluate official transcripts and test scores to determine appropriate transfer credit for admitted undergraduate and graduate students

• Work collaboratively with the Director of Veteran Affairs to certify enrollment and academic eligibility for student veterans in a timely manner

• Timely Certification of Athletes as needed

• Build and maintain transfer/test credit equivalencies and allocation tables

• Serve as an information resource specialist for awarding transfer credit for external courses and tests, configuring equivalencies and requisites, degree requirements, and degree audit to the entire University

• Develop documentation, communication and training materials in order to train other staff and school users in University policy and procedures related to Transfer Credit Evaluations

• Maintain student records in University systems, including records related to academic standing, degree progress (including major/minor/concentration changes, leaves, withdrawals, etc.)

• Work with Director, HR and Departments to assist with student employment positions/eligibility on campus

• Initiate, lead, and/or participate in special projects

• Committee assignments as assigned

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• A bachelor’s degree is required

• Must have the ability to think critically and perform complex tasks

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers are required
